Raider Weekend is the Biggest ET Bracket Race in RD History!
Published by Johnny Davis on July 20, 2009
For as far back as Richmond Dragway’s records go, there has not been a weekend of ET Bracket racing as big as the 2009 Computech Systems Raider Challenge Series. Over the course of 2 days of racing, over 1100 runs went down the strip including a marathon 755 runs on Saturday in 13 hours of racing.
Statistics from the event include Saturday’s 191 Top ET, 106 Modified ET, and 78 Junior Dragsters entries. Sunday was more great racing with 167 Top Entries, 103 Modifieds and 74 Junior Dragsters. All totaled 719 race entries (including 1st Round Re-entry) showed up for first round Saturday and Sunday totally smashing all ET Bracket records at Richmond Dragway.
“To say it was a successful start to the 2009 Raider Series would be an
understatement – this thing was off the charts and Richmond Dragway witnessed some of the best sportsman racing ever at the strip!” commented Track Operator Johnny Davis, “I hope that this strong start to the Raider series continues as the drivers head to VMP for Raider Weekend #2 in August and MIR for weekends 3 and 4 in the Fall! ”
“On behalf of our staff and crew, I say a heartfelt thank you to all of the drivers and crew who attended the Raider weekend and made it so much fun. I also thank Computech Systems for their support of the series and all of the Raider sponsors who make the Championship program so great. Finally, the Race Official Team deserves a big “atta-boy” for a job well done all weekend keeping the event moving along and cars going down the strip!”
