With one race to go, Jeff Verdi clinched a 2009 Track Championship in the “Firechicken” Pontiac Firebird in fine style. Verdi’s championship run was a near season long stronghold on the top spot to claim the 2009 Title.

finest runs in recent Modified ET history – Sparkman clinched the championship a race before the finale using deep round finishes and multiple event wins to catapault himself into contention.

Allan Talley and Co cherish the 2009 JD Championship

The only category left undecided before the final event was Junior Dragster and it was a dogfight all the way to the end. When the dust settled, Allan Talley, in just his second full season of competition, landed the Championship – Ironically enough, Talley’s ride is the same one that has won 4 consecutive championships between VMP and Richmond dating back to Carlton Thornton. What a great way to uphold the pedigree and finish the season off for Allan!
