2013 AED Performance Track Champions

Published by Johnny Davis on October 10, 2013

Congratulations to the 2013 AED Performance Track Champions who were crowned after a grueling 2013 campaign of 16 AED Performance ET Points Series Events.

Jeff Verdi pretty much wrapped up another (4th) track Championship with his awesome Custom Countertops Unlimited and Outlaw Motorsports Pontiac Firebird with a week to go on the 2013 season.  Verdi used 2 wins and a runner up to hold off Lee Dixon for his 2013 AED Performance Track Championship.

Modified ET was the tightest battle we have seen in years with about 5 drivers in the hunt for the championship on the final event.  One round of racing seperated the top 3 drivers as first round began and once the round was completed, Chris Moren had jumped 2 positions and placed himself atop the leader board for the day when it counts, championship Saturday.  For the second season in a row, Moren’s Bracket Race Central and Twisted Kolor Koncepts Dart is the Champ over a hard fought battle with JT Taylor and Ronnie Jeter.  Moren went on to win the 2013 IHRA Summit Team Finals championship (his second Team Finals in a row as well!)

Rachael Whitney showed total domination on her way to the 2013 AED Performance crown in Junior Dragsters.  She has created a “dynasty” with 3 track championships in a row and she used her outstanding season long performance to leap into the IHRA Summit Junior World Championship Runoff in Memphis, TN as well.  Whitney held off a very determined and tough running Jacob Baker to claim the title!

For the first season in many years, a Motorcycle series was contested and Jawan Morris raced to the inaugural Championship for bikes in 2013.  Using the strength of 3 wins in 4 finals, Morris easily handled all comers to place his yellow Suzuki in championship form.
